Strategic Economic Development Plan

The City of Roswell is committed to maintaining a vibrant and healthy economy. In 2012, the Mayor and City Council accepted a Strategic Economic Development Plan to guide the City's economic development efforts. Redevelopment plays a large role in the City's plan, and the plan provides strategies tailored to Roswell's unique opportunities and challenges. Urban Redevelopment Plans/Areas

An Urban Redevelopment Plan is a general blueprint for redevelopment and targeting of public investments in the redevelopment area. Urban Redevelopment Areas come in all shapes and sizes, and are adopted for a variety of purposes. The City of Roswell adopted its first Urban Redevelopment Plan in 2010 as a precursor to applying for an Opportunity Zone, and a second in 2013 for another Opportunity Zone. Both Opportunity Zone programs have now expired.

Livable Centers Initiative Studies

Sponsored by the Atlanta Regional Commission, these studies are intended to strengthen the connection between land use and transportation in communities. Using Federal transportation funds, a study result in action plan that lists transportation, regulations, and housing projects the City will undertake. These items become eligible for additional implementation funding.
