Roswell to hold virtual Comp Plan workshop series

Post Date:10/21/2020 10:23 AM

The City of Roswell will host a series of virtual workshops in late October and early November to gather input on the future growth and development for the City.

These six meetings will support Roswell's 2040 Comprehensive Plan. This plan — which the State of Georgia requires local governments to complete every five years — provides long-range policy direction for land use, transportation, economic development, housing, public facilities, intergovernmental agreements, and natural/cultural resources. The process involves a variety of stakeholders, including elected officials, city staff, a comprehensive plan advisory committee, regulatory agencies, a consultant team led by Pond & Company, and the general public. The input from all these stakeholders will be molded into a governing document. City-wide input was already collected in September. Using that feedback, the consultants will now focus on three key areas for further refinement during these virtual workshops:
  • Thursday, Oct. 29: GA 9 and Holcomb Bridge Road Focus Area (Postponed)
    Lunch Session (12-1 p.m.)
    Evening Session (6-7:30 p.m.)

  • Thursday, Nov. 5: GA 9 and Holcomb Bridge Road / GA 400 and Holcomb Bridge Road Focus Area Combined Meeting
    Lunch Session (11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.)
    Evening Session (6-8 p.m.)

  • Thursday, Nov. 12: Old Alabama Road and Holcomb Bridge Road Focus Area
    Lunch Session (11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.)
    Evening Session (6-8 p.m.)

"These workshops will gather important input from the public on three focus areas around town," said Jackie Deibel, Roswell’s Planning and Zoning Director. "By focusing on these areas, we can drill down into the specific vision people want for the city."

The series of virtual Zoom workshops will be hosted and held by Pond & Company. These meetings are open to the public, but pre-registration is required. Please email Jonathan Corona at to pre-register.

The lunch meetings will focus on an overall vision for the area, while the evening meeting will use the lunchtime discussion to make a sketch of possible redevelopment.
